Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization founded by Ron & Lynne DiMenna. Ron is a surfing legend with over 50 years of surf experience who was inducted into the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame in 1998. Ron and Lynne want to recognize the importance of the beach and surfing lifestyle in Florida and protect these beaches for future generations to enjoy.
Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation’s charitable focus is on keeping the beaches safe and healthy, by supporting programs and events of other organizations that support beaches and oceans and promote education on beach safety, coastal pollution and beach ecology. Surfing’s Evolution will provide funds for the provision of lifeguards on high risk beaches. Surfing’s Evolution will provide funds to organizations that house the history and artifacts of surfing to promote the sport through exhibits, lectures and events. Surfing’s Evolution will fund the proposed “Surfing’s Evolution Experience®“, a future project with plans to be located in Cocoa Beach. “Surfing’s Evolution Experience®” will be an awesome sensory interactive encounter telling the story of how surfing gave birth to two new sports – blue truck endless summer plate Skateboarding and Snowboarding; not to mention all the other board sports that have and will evolve from these sports.
In May of 2010 The Endless Summer® Specialty License plate created by Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation went on sale in Florida. Proceeds from the sale of the plate and related merchandise are a source of funding for Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation. It is a way for supporters to show their support for the beaches and the foundation.
